Heavy Duty Towing on I-29

Heavy Duty Towing Team Offloads Trailer Full of Liquid Egg Product

Benefiel’s heavy duty towing team were requested by the Missouri State Patrol after a rollover on I-29 in Mound City, MO. A tractor trailer transporting a load of liquid egg products was making its way southbound on the I-29. Realizing he was about to miss his exit, the truck driver tried to make a quick attempt at the exit.

Unfortunately for him, not only did he not make the exit, but also lost control of the tractor trailer in the process! Before he knew it, the truck had rolled over and came to rest on a medium between the interstate and the exit ramp.

Missouri State Patrol, the Missouri Department of Transportation, and Holt County Sheriff’s Office were on scene within minutes. When the Benefiel heavy duty towing team arrived, they carefully assessed the situation.

One of the largest factors during a towing or recovery process on the interstate is time. A towing company does not want to be on the side of the interstate for too long. One of the main reasons is to avoid causing a traffic jam. The other (and most important) reason is that working by the side of the interstate can be extremely dangerous for a tow truck operator.

The experienced heavy duty towing team was experienced and knew that they could upright the tractor trailer as a unit. On top of that, their equipment could easily handle the weight of the loaded trailer so there was no need to offload it by the side of the road!

The team expertly uprighted the truck and towed it back to the Benefiel yard. Both the tractor and trailer were deemed complete losses. Before they could bring the trailer to the salvage yard, the team had to unload boxes of liquid egg product!

It took hours of manpower but the job was finally complete! With the spoiled eggs disposed of, the tractor trailer made its final trip to the salvage yard. Keep up the fantastic work team!

Details of Heavy Duty Towing Team Offloads Trailer Full of Liquid Egg Product

A heavy duty towing team was requested by the Missouri State Patrol on Interstate-29 in Mound City, MO. Benefiel Truck Repair & Towing immediately dispatched a heavy duty towing team to the scene of the accident.

The heavy duty towing team arrived at the accident site and immediately began a full assessment of the situation. This assessment is a critical step in order for the heavy duty towing team to be able to formulate a safe and efficient recovery plan.

Their assessment had the heavy towing team confident that they could upright the tractor trailer in one go. The heavy towing team used their rotator to upright the truck. Their tire repair and replacement team arrived on scene to install new tires as some had blown out. With the new tires in place, the heavy towing team was able to safely tow the truck.

Back in the Benefiel yard, the unloading team worked for over 3 days to offload the trailer full of liquid egg product. Seeing as this was a food product, it had to be disposed of separately from the totalled trailer.
