Semi Towing Company Responds in Craig, Missouri

Semi Towing Company Uprights Flipped UPS Truck in Craig, MO

When truck drivers find themselves flipped over on the side of the road, it is an understandably scary experience. Couple this with an urgent need for help from a professional semi towing company and you’ve got a stressful situation at hand. Benefiel Truck Repair & Towing prides itself on responding when heavy duty truck drivers need us most.

At 6:38 in the morning, we were dispatched to a tractor trailer rollover accident on northbound I-29 at mile marker 99 in Craig, Missouri. As a semi towing company, Benefiel was eager to assist and immediately sent a 75-ton rotator, 35-ton integrated wrecker, 30-ton integrated wrecker, road service truck, and our accident response unit.

Upon arrival at the scene, we found a set of pup trailers rolled over in a steep ditch by the interstate fence. The tops of the trailers were pointed away from the road with damage to both of the roofs.

After assessing the circumstances, the semi towing company got to work. The driveline was dropped and units were prepped for tow. We picked up two loose packages and placed them back into the trailers prior to uprighting the units. Then, using the 75-ton rotator and one of the heavy wreckers, we separated the dolly and rear trailer from the tractor and front trailer.

Next, the semi towing company winched the tractor and front trailer to the shoulder while we placed a full lane drop in the right hand lane of I-29. This provided a safe work zone on the back side of the bridge we were working on.

Once the lane was dropped, the rotator and one heavy wrecker were rigged to the units and they were uprighted and winched onto the road. A wrecker then hooked up to the tractor and front trailer while the other wrecker and the rotator were rigged to the second trailer and dolly.

A tree was cut down with a chainsaw to make way before we winched the trailer and dolly to the shoulder. We then rigged it upright with the 75-ton rotator. Once the unit was upright, it was winched onto the shoulder.

Air lines were repaired and the dolly was hooked back to the front trailer. The units were towed to Benefiel Truck Repair in Hamburg, Iowa and the lane drop was removed. Once in the yard, the roofs of the trailers were pushed down back to legal height for further transport.

Arrangements were made for the trailers to be transported to Omaha and the tractor to be towed to the Body Shop at MHC Kenworth of Omaha. Thanks to our well-maintained fleet and reputation as the top semi towing company in the Craig, Missouri area, this job was completed with minimal issues.
